Il cagliaritano Gianmarco Pala, vincitore italiano del Red Bull Skate Arcade, il contest di skate che nella sua prima edizione ha visto partecipare più di 700 iscritti, è partito per Los Angeles dove insieme ai vincitori dell’edizione francese e spagnola, Bejamin Garcia e Sergio Munoz, visiterà i maggiori skate park e incontrerà i top skater della California.

Red Bull Skate Arcade, è il primo contest giocato online e sulla strada. Circa 700 iscritti hanno cercato di chiudere i trick caricati settimanalmente a partire dal 5 di giugno sul sito www.redbullskatearcade.it e hanno partecipando al contest, ma solo uno ha trionfato. Gianmarco è stato il vincitore assoluto dell’edizione italiana, guidando sia la classifica online, raggiungendo il punteggio di 37.988 e il massimo delle vite a disposizione, e dominando la finale bresciana.

La fase “reale” si è giocata lo scorso luglio a Brescia presso il Railway Skate Park, dove Gianmarco Pala ha battuto i 20 qualificati della fase online e si è aggiudicato il viaggio a Los Angeles dove avrà l’occasione di incontrare Ryan Sheckler, Torey Pudwill, Brandon Biebel e Joey Brezinski. Nella fitta agenda della settimana oltreoceano i vincitori dell’edizione italiana, spagnola e francese avranno l’occasione di “girare” a Stoner Park, Venice Park e North Hollywood.

Presented through the eyes of local rider Adam Billinghurst, the Whistler segment will make you understand the passion and feel of this almost mystic place. Working all winter so he can ride all summer, Billinghurst is a purest – riding only for the love of the sport. Adam’s outlook is simple, “My future involves more biking, some ups, some downs, then death”. The segment also features appearances from Whistler’s own FMB World Tour champ Brandon Semenuk, DH racers Chris Kovarik and Claire Buchar, and 9-year old phenom Finn Finestone.

“Where The Trail Ends” was crafted over three years with the most advanced filmmaking and sound equipment ever used in this genre. The film immerses viewers in an extraordinary chronicle of exploration, chaos and culture, set amongst some of the globe’s most harrowing and remote natural landscapes. Inspired by Red Bull Media House’s extraordinary “The Art of FLIGHT” snowboarding documentary, this is the soul and science of exploration as defined by two wheels. “The experience of making the film is something viewers will see first-hand. It’s the story of what it took to get there. And what it was like to experience the ultimate ride,” says rider Darren Berrecloth, considered one of the world’s preeminent free riders. “We went into regions almost entirely unknown. And we often never knew whether we’d succeed or fail, or worse.”

Veterans of Freeride’s heralded 10-year New World Disorder film series, athletes and production crews were left physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted after the film’s expeditions to dispatches amongst the Andean foothills of Salta, Argentina, China’s Gobi Desert, Nepal’s near-secret Mustang region, the towering shorelines of British Columbia’s Fraser River and Virgin, Utah – big mountain freeriding’s punishing proving grounds and birthplace. Ad animare la serata e a lanciare la sfida ai 15 skater qualificati, quattro  grandi nomi della scena internazionale:Thaynan Costa, Javier Paredes, Marco Lambertucci e Mark Bachman.

“E’ un’emozione grandissima aver vinto ed andare per la prima volta in California. La fase online è stata fondamentale perché sono arrivato a Brescia con 12 vite, ma durante la serata ne ho perse solo due, è andata alla grande!” ha commentato Gianmarco al termine della serata.

Michele Salini (PR) e Francesco Marconato (TV) hanno chiuso rispettivamente il contest in seconda e in terza posizione.

Grazie alla vittoria, Gianmarco avrà l’occasione di incontrare i top rider internazionali in California e di “girare” tra i più famosi spot di skate (tra cui lo Skate Lab e lo skate park privato di Ryan Sheckler).
