Jeremy Flores Wins Billabong Pipe Masters, Parkinson Takes Vans Triple Crown

Flores è il primo europeo ad aver mai vinto il Billabong Pipe Masters nei 40 anni di storia dell’evento. Questa vittoria è anche il miglior risultato finora nella carriera di Flores.
“This is such a dream,” dice Flores. “I’ve been coming to Hawaii for so long and this is my favorite place in the world, the waves, the people, everything. I just knew I couldn’t give up in the Final even though I was behind. It’s the Pipe Masters and it’s everything. I’m so stoked.”

Flores ha vinto anche contro il 10 volte campione del mondo ASP Kelly Slater, negli ultimi minuti della loro sfida alle semi finali. Questa è una svolta significativa nella carriera del giovane francese.
Flores è nono nella classifica finale dell’ ASP World Tour 2010.

Joel Parkinson, ritornato alle Hawaii a difendere il titolo di Vans Triple Crown dopo una brutta ferita al piede che gli ha fatto perdere praticamente tutta la stagione del 2010 ASP World Tour, ha dato prova di una performance eccezionale vincendo l’ASP PRIME Reef Hawaiian Pro, nono posto all’ O’Neill World Cup a Sunset Beach e 13esimo al Billabong Pipe Masters, assicurandosi così il terzo titolo consecutivo del Vans Triple Crown.
