Europe XGames Tignes 2012 saw tons of great action and thrilling moments. Almost live images from the Winter X Games Tignes with the men’s snowboard slopestyle elimination. As promised, Yanis Ourabah is out there working hard and taking gorgeous exclusive images!
Sebastien Toutant gained the first place in slopestyle qualifications, followed by Ståle Sandbech and Eric Willet. In fourth position Shaun White and fifth Mark Mcmorris.

Shaun White and Elena Hight won the 30th annual Burton US Open halfpipe competition taking home $25,000 each and one of the most coveted titles in snowboarding.

Both the men’s and women’s competitions were nail-biters, with the podium switching up constantly throughout the finals. In the women’s contest, Elena Hight had an unforgettable day as she earned her first-ever US Open championship title. The men’s halfpipe final was undoubtedly one of the best in recent memory, with past US Open champions like Danny Kass and Shaun White battling it out with top riders like Louie Vito, Iouri Podladtchikov and Danny Davis. Shaun White was the first rider to drop, and in true form, he was unbeatable from the start. Shaun’s first run earned him his fourth US Open halfpipe title and included a method, frontside double cork 1080 stalefish, Cab double cork 1080 melon, frontside inverted 540 stalefish, backside double McTwist 1260 ending things with an alley oop backside rodeo.

The slopestyle competition, which was held on March 9th, was exciting the same way, with Seb Toutant taking home the title over Ulrik Badertscher and Seppe Smits, while among the women Jamie Anderson was the one who celebrated the victory.

The O’Neill Evolution started the year in the most stylish way possible. And today a full lenght clip has been released with the best action as well as exclusive interviews with O’Neill team riders Seb Toots, Fredrik Evensen, Jeremy Jones and Celia Miller, head course shaper Marc Brunner and head judge Thierry Monay. Show at Winter XGames is going on, and day two saw massive action. Torstein Horgmo and Mark McMorris who battle for the best triple cork for example. In the snowboard Big Air finals, Mark McMorris took the gold, runner up was Torstein followed by Sebastien Toutant.

In Women’s snowboard superpipe the podium was taken by Kelly Clark who hit an astonishing 14 feet 3 inches in her final run. Runner up was Elena Hight and third Hannah Teter.

And in Women’s snowboard slopestyle the winner was Jamie Anderson, second Enni Rukajärvi and third Kjersti Oestgaard Buaas.

Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) wins Nike 6.0 Air & Style Munich 2011 followed by Seppe Smits (BEL) and Halldor Helgason (ICE) 16.500 spectators witness the return of the Air & Style to the Munich Olympic Stadium

Munich, February 12th, 2011 – Peetu Piiroinen from Finland wins  the Nike 6.0 Air & Style Munich 2011. With a Cab 1260 Mute Grab and a Frontblunt 270 (93,07 points) in the super final of the best four riders, which was viewed by 16.500 spectators, he won the coveted Ring of Glory at the Munich Olympic Stadium. Seppe Smits (BEL/91,6 points) got second, Halldor Helgason  (ICE/77,6) third and Nils Arvidsson (SWE/37)  fourth. Piiroinen got  the  lions’ share of  the 75.000 Euro prize money and 1.000 points in Swatch TTR World Tour Ranking for the victory. He is now in the lead of the TTR World Tour followed by Seppe Smits.

Andrew Hourmont,  founder of the Air & Style:  „The Air & Style and Snowboarding have successfully returned to Munich. And I believe that Munich is happy that we are back. Our setup has proven its value. The riders have demonstrated world class sports and the fans haven gone along.

The only remaining German contestant, Ethan Morgan,  from Mittenwald has beaten favourite Iouri Podladtchikov (SUI) in the first round and got sixth. The other favourite rider, Sebastien Toutant (CAN), Air & Style Peking 2010- and X-Games-winner, got fifth. Werner Stock (AUT), thrid at  the Air & Style Innsbruck  only a week ago, has beaten his buddy Peter König (AUT) and got seventh. With his victory at the stadium slopestyle of the Nike 6.0 Air & Style Munich 2011 Piiroinen has defended his lead in the TTR World Rankings.

Mike Casanova  (USA/89,33)  won the Nike 6.0 Stairset Battle,  Jamie Nicholls (UK/84,33) became second and Forest Bailey (USA/82,67) third.

From January 2 to 8, O’neill Evolution took place in Switzerland in Bolgen, Jakobshorn, Davos. With a prizemoney of US$ 125.000, it was a 6-star event of the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour.

The format was divided into Men – 6 Star Halfpipe & 6 Star Slopestyle  and    Women – 6 Star Halfpipe & 6 Star Slopestyle.

The riders invited were no less than the Top 10 Men & Top 8 Women from the TTR World Ranking of 2010, then there were the open qualifications with 120 spots max per contest
