ASP Bear Pro 2011 – Pics and Report

The final stop of the ASP world longboard title 2011 has been finally completed, on the last day of the waiting period, in Andora (180km NW of Levanto). After several days of flatness, the event was relocated in the city of Andora where a small swell of 1-2 ft hit the coast. For the first time in history, a champion has been crowned on Italian soil. Taylor Jensen has taken the world title winning over Tony Silvagni in the semifinals. And Kai Sallas is the winner of the Bear Pro presented by Jeep.

Waves were surely too small to allow participants express themselves in the best way, anyway all the spectators enjoyed the incredible number of tricks of the world best longboarders, like an uncountable amount of hang fives and hang tens. Old school merged with new school, and there was almost a vintage climate in the air. We couldn’t have missed such an important date for Italy and for Liguria in particular, and here are the pictures of Sunday 20th November.

Bear Pro Levanto moves to Andora

After a week of total flatness in Levanto, the ASP World Longboard Tour Bear Pro presented by Jeep has relocated to Andora, 180km North West of Levanto, in search of a small swell which has formed from a low pressure tem off the coast of Corsica. The decision has been taken unanimously by event officials and surfers in hope of finding waves and starting the event.

Everyone hopes to complete the Bear Pro in the remaining 48 hours of the waiting period.

Anyway, the surfers will return to Levanto on Sunday evening to participate in the farewell celebration organised by the town of Levanto for all the visiting competitors.

Officials and surfers will meet at 11am at the main beach of Andora for a possible start shortly after to Round One of completion.

Bear Pro Levanto still waiting for the swell

Another lay day had been claimed for the ASP Bear Pro Levanto. High pressure and summer time have taken posses of the area, and the sea is totally flat. Ironically, huge swells hit the coast on the previous week of the event. Anyway the moral is not down at all and the surfers are taking advantage to visit the area. A paddle out has been celebrated for the victims of the recent flood in the area, and damaged areas have been visited as well. Soccer matchs have been organized on the beach and there was also the time for a visit to Carrara’s caves. Waiting for the swell, here are some pictures and the round 1 matchups

ASP Bear Pro Levanto + Bear Pro Party in Milan

A legendary event is hitting the Italian coast in Levanto(SP). From November 10th to 20th it’s going to take place for the first time in Italy the final stop of the ASP longboard world campionships, powered by Bear.

And to celebrate the Bear Pro Levanto, Bear decided to organize a cool party in a real Californian Style at the Surfers Den in Milan. Surfers Den is the meeting point of all the surfers in the city, so there’s probably no better place for the celebration.

The party is on Wednesday October 26th at 10pm and it’ll give you the chance to win 2 passes for the Vip Area – so you could be on the line up of the ASP event.
