Air Attack Antwerp – Europe’s bigger skate event!

Air Attack is an important skateboard competition and an official stop of the World Cup Skateboarding tour (you can check tour info and rankings at www.wcsk8.com). After four successful editions at the beginning of the 90s, it is back again. In the past, even a skate monster as Mike Vallely was present at this event. Now, some of the best skaters of the world are here to compete in four categories: street and vert, both for gents and ladies. Highest air and best trick competitions are featured as well. This edition was overwhelmed by Brazilians. 3 of them (Rodolfo Ramos, Danilo Do Rosario and Kelvin Hoefler) dominated the street’s gents, Sandro Dias placed 2nd in the vert gent and pulled the highest air (impressive 3.5 m), Leticia Bufoni won the street’s female and Guiri Reyes won the best trick with a spectacular kickflip to BS 50-50 off car. Americans did great as well: Andy MacDonald and Mimi Knoop both won the vert competition, in the gents and ladies category respectively.
After the award ceremony, most of the skaters assaulted the car which was used for the best trick session and completely destroyed it! That was also quite spectacular and entertaining to see. Hopefully this event will come back next year.
