Have you ever heard of Imperia? It’s a kind of town deep in the Italian Riviera, well known for sandy beaches, promenades on the seaside and a lot of flowers.

In this idyllic background and just on mid-August we take a quick drive there(well, it would have been quick excluding the monster traffic on the high way) for the Massacre Skatecontest held in the local skatepark (read more on the Firewall Skatepark here.)

We’re a little fed-up with mini-ramp contests and then I was so glad to see that the format of the Massacre was a street contest!yeah! I already tasted some nasty grinds and flips when getting ready for the shooting!

The set up was nice, basically 2 different lines with a pole jam, a rail, 3 differently shaped banks, a kicker, a rainbow rail, and finally the double mini, this was great cause it encouraged to skate fast and to link tricks during the run without hesitation.

The game was made of some battery run and then the finals in which the 4 best skaters “battled” together to take the lead. I saw some nasty tricks but I was impressed by the different styles that each rider showed. The park has been skated with a lot of variations, it has been so nice!

Each of them won some stuffs offered by Mare Sport (an historical shop in Savona)

I agreed with the final results, Mattia was for sure the hottest, but I liked a lot the skating of Edo Costa, I guess this kid can ollie pop higher than his height!

Dylayed played live in the late afternoon, while the guys keep on skating: stoked by Andrea Arto ( this handplant spine transfer made my day for sure) and Stefano Lillo, sick style and still pushing the limit!
