1.Hi Tommy! Welcome on Candiesmagazine.com! Introduce yourself! How old are you, how long have you been riding and where do you come from?
Hi, I’m Tommy, I come from Turin, I’m 22 and I’ve been riding for about 10 years.
2.Sponsors and hook-ups?
My sponsors are: Rough Snowboards, Doors snowpark Structure and Ashbury Eyewear
3.Winter has just ended, so let’s talk about the future: any plans for the upcoming summer? Where will you ride?
This summer I’m going to study a lot and I’m afraid I won’t have enough time to go snowboarding. I’ll go surfing and I’ll skate a bit around!
4.You’re becoming more and more famous and your name appears on several magazines and websites. What was your last season best performance?
I don’t have any highlights, at the beginning of the season I entered the Rough team after two years with Santa cruz, and also in the Doors team. I think those two news pushed me to improve my riding and to focus even more!
5.Why do you snowboard instead of skiing
?
When I was a child I used to ski, then I tried with a board, and since it’s really funnier I’ve never left it. Snowboarding is just like skating, far more creative and immediate!
6.What’s the best Italian snowpark at the moment? And your preferred one, your home spot?
I think the best and most complete one is always Livigno, but the one I prefer the most is surely Bardonecchia. I’ve been riding there for four years, the park is extremely funny and the resort is just near Turin!
7.Who do you usually ride with? Any projects with your crew?
HG IS ALL I NEED. I always ride with Pat, Martino, Fil, Bosio, Mayne and we’re filming our new video, Elegant Stoners. It’ll be released in October! And next season you’ll see some novelties about HG…
8.It’s clear that you have a great feeling with rails, wood lines and other stuff that can be found in the snow. What do you like the most to do on a rail?
I like to be complete, I try to improve the basic tricks without difference between frontside and backside. So that I can ride on any kind of structure and I can always invent something new!
9.The three favourites: book, album and movie!
Book: Siddartha Album: The Dark Side of the Moon Film: Into The Wild
10.What do you do when not riding?
I ride only during weekends. During the week I go to university, I skate, I ride a bike and I chill with the burgers!
11.A comment about the Italian scene:
It’s still far behind, something it’s changing and there’s someone who really believes in it, but they’re only a few. Companies and winter resorts are led by people who don’t even know what’s a snowboard, but unfortunately they have the money and the power!
12.Last words:
Have always fun! Peace
Thank you Tommy! Shred on!
