Join the dots: she’s a girl. She comes from Trentino. She’s 18. She shreds 30mt kickers. She rocked at the New Zealand X-Games. She burnt out Mammoth landings. She uses poles. Ok, now look the page from a distance. You got it, she’s ARIANNA TRICOMI! Hells yeah mate!

Hello Arianna! Welcome on Candiesmagazine.com! How old are you, where do you come from, and how long have you been skiing?

Thank you! I’m 18, I come from Corvara, Alto Adige, and I can’t remember how long I’ve been skiing!

Sponsors – hook ups:

smith optics, voelkl, marker, dalbello, bliss, ski carosello corvara

What led you to put on a pair of skis for the first time? And how did you begin with the freestyle?

Surely my mom pushed me ;) I was two year and a half! After years of slaloms, always trying to escape to go riding the pow or the park, I finally found the courage to do something different!

Since the very first time I saw you riding, I’ve been impressed by your huge tricks and your smoothness riding on massive kickers, you’re a match for your male colleagues. What kind of sensation do you feel riding such huge stuff? What do you think before a run?

I must say that I like riding on huge kickers, TRYING to be a match for my male colleagues…the sensations I feel are something indescribable, when I land from a very big kicker I’m so happy that nothing else can be compared with. Before a run I only think to the trick and I imagine it.

What are your favourite tricks? And which one are you trying to land at the moment?

I like a lot riding in switch a do big 3 tail. Unfortunately at the moment I’m trying nothing, I’m lying in bed at home with a nice rigid bust and two compressed and microfractured vertebrae. Last trick I was doing was cork 5. I imagine tricks the whole day, when I’ll be back on my skis I won’t know where to start from!

Do you have an home spot or a favourite resort where you love riding the most?

I usually ride here at home after school. I also like a lot riding Livigno and Austria.

Which structures should feature in your ideal park?

Everything, from kickers to rails, without forgetting a funny jibbing line !

Do you think you had to give up something to ride? Do you ever feel under pressure? Or it’s all about fun?

Skiing always make me happy and I’ve always fun while riding. I’d give up everything to ski. Sometimes I feel under pressure, but it’s part of the game!

What do you thing of the Italian scene? Are there any promising young rider here around?

The Italian scene is growing, more and more kids are killing the parks. Unfortunately, there are always too few girls riding!

What are your 3 best moments until now?

Well…last year the unexpected third place at the Austrian Open, the week I spent in Senales with the Smith team (Awesomeeeee!) and riding Mammoth, until they took me away on a stretcher.

You take off you boots and…what do you do during your free time?

Sometimes I study. Sometimes I party. And I do other sport activities.

I saw some pictures of you while surfing… Are you good at it?

Ahhh surf, like a drug… Let’s say that I’m pretty good, and that I try to spend a good part of the year surfing!

Thank you Arianna! Last line is yours. Say whatever you want!

A big thanks to mom and dad, who always help me. Thanks to all my sponsors, Franz, Valentina and Andy. To my awesome friends, that always make me laugh and to my dogs Sina and Sharky. And thank you to the doctors who are going to put me back on my feet soon I hope! Thank you for this interview! And thanks if it snows a bit!
