Small talk with Ivan Federico

December 20th, 2010 by admin received Comments Off

Skateboarding sickness! Too many tricks, too much style, and too young too! The one who’s never missing in a contest row, the kid that everyone’s trying to shot at, the dude makin’ girls cry and scream while’s skatin, well you got the point, IVAN FEDERICO!

Hi Ivan! What’s up? Thank You for giving us a bit of Your time! The rituals: how old are you and where are you from?

I’m 11 and I’m from Caluso, Turin

Sponsors?

Murder, Vans, Independent , Warriors Skateboard

How long have you been skating? And most of all, what did push you on the deck?

It has been six years ago, it all began when I received a toy skateboard as a present!

You’re for sure one of the main names in the italian scene, but also one of the youngest. Do You ever feel intimidated while skating with people so older than you?

Nope, it’s them those who are intimidated :)

How many hours do you spend skating every day?

Not so much, about 1 hour during the week and the whole day during weekends, if weather is good

Fav spot? (If it’s a secret don’t answer eheh)

Marseille

You’re showing a very personal look, don’t know why but it reminds me somewhat from Guns ‘n Roses! Which are Your musical influences, what hypes you before goin’ out and sk8?

It’s all about skatecore, or thinking about the bomb to land!

I met you at any event or contest I went this year. But do you like these super busy days or you prefer to film or shoot at your local home spot?

It’s all about contest to me! The more and more contests! New places, new situations, new people! Adrenalin rush, everything’s new each time! If I could I’d like just to travel around!

In any case…the best event you took part at this year?

I’d say Basilea, the european championship, it’s the main event and the more challenging of the year, it’s a pity for the others like the Prague Mystic Cup, the Tallin Simpel Session and the Amsterdam one, I mean, there’s plenty of great contests, it’s money that’s missing!

Is there a pro skater you’re lookin at, or that in any case you’ll define “your best one”?

Nah… there are so much!

Who’s killing it in Italy instead?

Iacopino Carozzi if we’re talkin of rookies….among the olders I’d say Fabio, Marchino Giordano and the Picozza

Thanks to skateboading You’re living so many experiences that a lot of people won’t experience in their whole life. If you have to mention just one, which would it be?

When i skated with Giorgio (Zattoni) in his vert ramp…bs flip indy 1 mt over my head…so damn cooooooooooooooool……..but there are a lot more…

Highlights. Your best 3 moments ‘til now.

Basilea, when i won the under 12 street comp, when I won the italian championship of transition and any time i step on my deck!

What do You do while You’re not skating? And what would you do but you can’t find time to, because of skateboarding?

When I’m not skating I’m thinking at new tricks to land, and when I’m skating I also think that snowboarding is really good, too!

You got an innovative baggage of tricks, a signature. What’s your best one at the moment? Are you also trying something new?

I think my best one is the flip sad. New ones are flip to fs board, bs 3 on street, hardflip…and more…

Are girls flirting with you after a huge performance in a contest?

There are never girls of my age…oh, if only there were!

Where Ivan would like to be in ten years?

Skating the Danny Way’s Megaramp ehehehhe!

What do you think about the European scene compared to the Italian one? Did you already have any chance to take a look?

The level is doubtless higher, structures are made in a better way and there’s a lot more…but we’ll get there too, maybe in a century or something

What is that makes perfect a good day at the pool or at the ramp?

Sun, hyped friends, and some nice tunes

3 favs. A skate video, a movie, a book that you remember

Alien Workshop, Lords of Dogtown, about the book..mm..”Stelle di Cannella” ( a story about jewish)

Last line! Last words’ up to you!

Rock’n roll

Thank You Ivan!
