Daniel Dhers visits Lima on the first stop of his Under My Wing tour in South America
The two-times X-Games Champion shared his knowledge with 16 young talents in a two-day workshop.
Latin American BMX athlete Daniel Dhers came to Lima to be closer to his fans and share with them the secrets of his favorite sport: BMX Park.
Red Bull Under My Wing took place at the Polideportivo Rosa Toro in San Borja and started off with a foam pit practice, in which the participants had the chance to try out some new tricks with safe landings.
After a warm-up session, Daniel talked to them about being a professional athlete, about sponsorships, the use of protector gear and his personal career experiences. During the afternoon the participants rocked the foam pit again, with Daniel giving them useful advice.
The following day, Daniel Dhers and the 16 participants visited the Skate Park in Carmen de la Legua, Callao, where they showed off their new tricks.
“Follow your dreams! Everything is possible, you just have to put some effort in there and be thorough in what you do,” was Daniel’s advice to the Peruvian BMX athletes. “The level of BMX in Peru has become much better since the first time I visited the country in 2007. Now the riders are able to do advanced tricks and I hope that they will become more competitive so I can see them at the X-Games soon,” he said.
